We are completely volunteer staffed, but the operation still has overhead. Fuel, refrigeration, utilities, supplies - it takes money to run distributions. Your donation makes a difference!
For now, diesel fuel is what powers refrigeration. We need it, but it is costly. Your $5 or $10 donations helps us keep our food safe. A better option is coming! Soon we will have electric power and a warehouse.
YES! In March of 2022 all 6 of our trailers were destroyed in a fire. Rather then spend money buying new trailers, we put donations toward building the warehouse this community so desperately needs. We are actively working with our board of directors, contractor, and county officials to make it come true. Next is a community center to offer more types of services needed here.
No that's not how we do things at Maricopa Pantry. The warehouse comes first. The second building will be a community center with offices, conference rooms, and meeting space. This complex will serve our community for many years, to help us reach and meet the needs of more and more folks.
